Ninety rotating pyramid mirrors are also utilized on the geodesic sphere, allowing the ball to produce a state-of-the-art light show and kaleidoscope affect atop One Times Square. An impressive feat of designed and engineering, the Waterford Crystal ball weighs approximately 1,070 pounds and takes exactly one minute to descend the spire atop Times Square.
